Zech. 4:1-14 Rev. 4:9-5:5 Matt. 25:1-13
And how can we enroll among the wise who keep their lamps trimmed and burning? Watch and pray. We watch and note when the Lord arrives in glory – on the last day, in the every day. We pray for his swift return – on the last day, in the every day. We watch with the seven eyes of the Lord, which range through the whole earth. We pray as the two anointed ones who stand by the Lord of the whole earth. We watch as the four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind. We pray, “Holy, Holy, Holy,” with the hosts of heaven. We ascribe honor and power to the one who is worthy: the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David. We offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and make good our vows to the Most High. We listen for the words for which we long: “Whoever offers me the sacrifice of thanksgiving honors me; but to those who keep in my way will I show the salvation of God.” Amen. Come Lord Jesus.
O God, out of Zion, perfect in beauty, you have revealed your glory; grant us so to watch and pray, that we may follow when the Bridegroom leads us to the wedding banquet; through the same, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
