“Me pregunto cómo nuestras iglesias y ministerios experimentarían una transformación radical si tratáramos al comienzo de un nuevo año litúrgico con el mismo entusiasmo y anticipación que normalmente reservamos para las festividades de fin de año. Así como nos preparamos con decoraciones, celebraciones y propósitos de Año Nuevo, ¿qué pasaría si nos embarcáramos en el nuevo año litúrgico alimentando nuestros talentos, habilidades y dones espirituales únicos que se nos han otorgado?
En la lectura de hoy, Mateo nos recuerda que hemos sido bendecidos abundantemente con talentos y dones según nuestras capacidades. ¡Estamos llenos del amor y la generosidad de Dios! La pregunta entonces es: ¿cómo podemos hacer crecer estos talentos? La solución podría ser involucrarnos con ellos diariamente, acercándonos a ellos con la misma energía y compromiso que aplicamos a otras resoluciones o compromisos.
A medida que emprendemos un nuevo año litúrgico, oro para que el Señor continúe agraciándonos con abundantes dones y talentos. Para que cuando llegue el momento en el que Dios nos pida cuentas, podamos escuchar esas preciosas palabras: … “Muy bien, empleado bueno y fiel… entra en el gozo de tu Maestro”.
Que el Señor nos conceda la claridad para reconocer estos talentos, la energía para nutrirlos, y el coraje para multiplicarlos. Amén.
I wonder how our churches and ministries would experience a radical transformation if we approached the beginning of a new liturgical year with the same enthusiasm and anticipation that we typically reserve for the end-of-the-year festivities. Just as we prepare with decorations, celebrations, and New Year’s resolutions, what if we embarked on the new liturgical year by nurturing our unique talents, abilities, and spiritual gifts bestowed upon us?
In today’s reading, Matthew reminds us that we have been blessed abundantly with talents and gifts according to our abilities. We are overflowed with God’s love and generosity! The question then becomes, how can we make these talents grow? The solution might be to engage with them daily, approaching them with the same energy and commitment we apply to other resolutions or commitments.
As we set forth a new liturgical year, I pray that the Lord will continue to grace us with abundant gifts and talents, and when the time comes for God to call us to account, we may hear those precious words: … “Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have been faithful… enter into the joy of your Master.”
May God grant us the clarity to recognize these talents, the energy to nurture them, and the courage to multiply them.
