En este tiempo de adviento esperamos con ansiedad la llegado del niño Jesús pues nuestra fe nos enseña que es en la espera que nos preparamos para recibir a ese lindo bebe que vino, viene y vendrá a cambiar nuestras vidas. Esa hermosa creación de Dios cambió el equilibrio del mundo con sus enseñanzas de amor y justicia. Ese bebé crecerá para proclamar el amor al prójimo y el cuidado para los más vulnerable. Jesús en sus enseñanzas aseguro que todo lo que hagamos por uno de nuestros hermanos más humildes, lo hacemos a él. Igual cuando despreciamos al prójimo, le despreciamos a él.
Cada año nos recordamos que ese maestro de la ley del amor fue un inocente bebé, nacido en un pesebre y no en un palacio, nació pobre y humilde, enseñándonos que las riquezas nos son el poder ni el dinero sino la simpleza e inocencia de un bebé que crecerá para enseñarnos un mejor camino. En su ministerio Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos “carguen su cruz y síganme”.
Hoy nos preguntamos, ¿Hay espacio en nuestro corazón para recibir al niño Jesús? ¿Está nuestro corazón listo para recibir al Mesías que cambiará nuestras vías? El decir si es nuestro compromiso a Jesús y a su ministerio de amor y justicia.
Dios de amor, prepara mi corazón para recibirte cada día con un corazón puro y llego de tu gracia y amor. Amen.
In this time of Advent, we anxiously await the birth of our Lord. Our faith teaches us that it is in waiting that we can prepare to fully receive that beautiful baby who came, comes, and will come to change our lives. That beautiful child of God turned the world upside down with his teachings of love and justice. That baby will grow up to proclaim love for others and care for the most vulnerable. In his teachings, Jesus assured us that everything we do for one of our most vulnerable siblings, we do for him. Likewise, when we reject our siblings, we reject him.
Every year, we are reminded that Jesus was a child just like us. And because of God’s love for the world, that innocent baby was born in a manger, not a palace; he was born poor and humble, teaching us that true riches are not found in power or money but in the simplicity and innocence of a baby who will grow to show us the way of love. In his ministry, Jesus told his disciples to “take up your cross and follow me.”
Today, we ask ourselves, is there room to receive that sweet baby in our hearts? Are our hearts ready to receive the Messiah who will change our ways? Saying yes is our commitment to Jesus and his ministry of love and justice.
God of love prepares my heart to receive you every day. To choose you every day and to live as you would have me live. Amen.
