“NEVERTHELESS is one of the first ‘runners’ I made, anchored by one long word surrounded with colored clusters of the words “And, Or, But”. Small cutouts of Tinkerbell from the Peter Pan Disney tale flit around the words. This is simpler than my later collages, representing the constant questioning of a skeptic grateful for faith that undermines terminal cynicism. All the excuses and rationalizations we can dream up to discount the existence of God, even evil itself, dissipate when the core experience of the Holy is recounted.”
