“These are some drawings from a pandemic notebook that I kept, mostly while attending online church on Sunday mornings. It was a way to pay attention to my yard and garden — my husband and I would draw next to each other and also share our drawings with our friend Andy in Lubbock, who said (memorably), ‘We should draw as if we’re attending church, and attend church as if we’re drawing.’ They’re not high art, really just a practice of paying attention.”
